Reefer Owner-Operator Jobs — Lease On With ARI

Why Reefer Freight Rewards Owner-Operators

Refrigerated freight is some of the most consistent, premium-paying work on the road. Produce, frozen food, dairy, meat, and temperature-controlled pharma move every single week of the year — there is no real off-season. That steady, year-round demand is exactly why reefer rates tend to run stronger than dry van, and why a well-run reefer truck rarely sits empty.

It also asks more of you. Reefer freight comes with tight appointment windows, strict temperature requirements, pulp-temp checks at the dock, and continuous reefer-unit upkeep. The owner-operators who win at this run a clean reefer unit, manage their set points and fuel, document temps, and protect the load. If that's how you operate, this freight pays you back for it.

Lease On Under ARI's Authority — Not a Broker

ARI is a motor carrier, not a broker. When you lease on, you run reefer freight under ARI's own DOT/MC authority — you do not need authority of your own, and you do not run your own authority with us. Getting your own authority is a separate industry path; that is simply not what ARI offers. We are lease-on only.

Because ARI moves real volume and holds established shipper and broker relationships on temperature-controlled lanes, running under our authority opens access to better reefer loads than a single truck can usually book alone. Your dedicated dispatcher — who handles a maximum of seven trucks — knows your lanes, negotiates your rates, and keeps your reefer loaded. There is no forced dispatch: you choose your loads, routes, and home time.

Pay Built for the Way You Run

  • True 82% revenue share — you keep 82% of gross linehaul; ARI's 18% covers dispatch, compliance, and billing.
  • Same-day pay — deliver before 12:00 PM EST and submit paperwork, and you're paid the same business day. No quick-pay or factoring fees, unlike the 3–5% many carriers charge.
  • Zero escrow — ARI holds $0, while some carriers hold $2,500–$5,000.
  • Fuel savings — discounts up to $0.45/gallon and a 40% fuel advance at pickup, which matters when you're also burning reefer fuel.
  • Bring your own freight — find a load or customer, and once we run their credit, we book it under ARI's authority.

Reefer Owner-Operator Requirements

  • Sleeper semi, 2000 or newer, DOT-ready
  • Your own reefer trailer in good working order
  • CDL Class A with about 2 years of experience
  • Clean driving record, 25 or older

Apportioned IRP plates (all 48 states, ~$70/week), ELD (~$30/week), and flat insurance (~$300/week) are available so you can plug in and run. Ready to keep your reefer loaded? Lease on with ARI or learn more about why owner-operators join us.
